i just wanted to take a moment to say i love being in love.



i feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have met josh. it still blows my mind that we are so perfect for each other. we totally "get" each other and balance each other out. we have so much in common. and the fact that i saw him around for years before we actually got together...it's like we were just hanging out, waiting for the stars to align or something. crazy.



i love all the little stuff: having someone to fall asleep next to every nite, having someone to hold hands with when you go to a haunted house, having someone to make you soup and toast when you are sick, having that one phone call to look forward to every day. i love that we say "i love you" dozens of times per day -- for no reason and for every reason. i love that i can look at him and he knows exactly what i'm thinking. i love that we hardly ever fight, never stay mad at each other for more than a few minutes at a time, and never go to sleep without a kiss. i love that it's been almost a year and a half since he came over and never left, and it still feels like we just met and are just as "stupid over each other."



you'll have to forgive me if i'm being totally sappy and annoying. but before i met josh, i was starting to believe i would never find happiness like this. i had a string of bad (even terrible) romantic experiences and i spent a number of consecutive years being single. i hated being the third wheel when i went out with friends. i was beginning to think i would be perpetually single. then this happened, and i'm still trying to get over my own amazement.



josh is the most wonderful boy, and we have the most wonderful relationship. i'm more grateful than i can put into words. i know a lot of you know what i mean. and if you don't...be patient. it's worth it.

OVER THE TOP!

yesterday was the big art show i haven't been able to shut up about. i was soo nervous. IT WAS AWESOME! there was so much great art included in the show! lots of skeletons and monsters and black cats...all my favorite stuff! i apologize that i didn't take any pictures of the gallery while i was there, but i was so nervous and so busy dj'ing that it totally slipped my mind.

so i brought plenty of records to play and it was really nice to dj a new spot with a different crowd than i'm usually used to. people danced, the gallery owner told me several times that he loved what i was playing, and people even came up to introduce themselves and say they were already fans of my radio show and tuned in all the time! wow! josh and i had three photographs in the show and we sold two on opening night! the third will still hang until the show ends, which is about 2 more weeks. hopefully that will sell, too. but even if it doesn't, i'm thrilled to have done better than i was expecting. now, if only i could have some luck like that in my etsy store! as a thank you gift for dj'ing, the gallery owner presented me with this KICK ASS print by local artist jeff lamm. i went and got a frame for it today so it is now hanging in my living room. how awesome is that?!





today was the perfect fall day. josh and i went to his mom's house to celebrate his belated birthday. there's nothing like driving down the highway with a cup of hot coffee, blasting white zombie and looking at the pretty leaves changing colors!







then we came home and had NOTHING SUNDAY, which made up for the fact that my "nothing friday" was kinda ruined because josh spent forever changing his guitar strings and making trips to the music store and then passing out on the couch. hmph. i love ending the weekend like this! yummy grilled cheese, vegetable soup, orange almond hot tea, and my favorite kind of pickles!!



speaking of josh's belated birthday...i think he had a good birthday on wednesday. i surprised him with a romantic candlelight dinner by setting up a card table in the bedroom (ha! it was the only way to keep the cats away from the candles). i ended up secretly ordering takeout to get him the steak he wanted, which worked out perfectly since he texted me halfway through the day and said, "can we just eat frozen pizzas for dinner? i'm too tired to go out and i don't want to deal with the world." so i let him think he was getting frozen pizzas, and instead he got his secret bedroom steak dinner. here is birthday boy opening presents. i got him a record and a dvd box set, and my family got him blank cds, a PBR 12-pack and a hank williams music book so he can learn the songs on his guitar:

and while we're on the subject of cats...the other day i couldn't find megadeth ANYWHERE. i looked in all her favorite hiding spots and all her favorite napping spots, but she was nowhere to be found. i was walking through the kitchen when i just happened to glance up and HOLY MACKREL would you believe where i found her???





she climbed the sink...to climb the fridge...to climb the CABINETS...where she sat perched like an indignant little parrot nearly touching the ceiling! the look on her face said, "i'm going to sit here if i want to and nothing you can do will stop me!" and she's just about right, since if i yell at her and scare her, she begins to walk behind the row of glasses and bottles atop the cabinets and that is the LAST thing i need her to do is knock them down and break them. still, what a little brat!

NOTHING FRIDAY!

last nite i had a dream that i was back in high school and new kids on the block came to perform for our class. i was really upset because i recorded their show and i couldn't find them by the time school let out to give them a copy of the cassette. pretty random, huh?

the other day josh and i declared today "NOTHING FRIDAY!" it's the first day in at least two weeks that we have nothing we have to do. to celebrate, we are getting into our pajamas the minute he gets home from work, watching some cheesy horror movies on tv, and doing NOTHING. i need one of these days so bad! we might make some grilled cheese at some point as well. josh makes the best grilled cheese.

it's a gray, rainy day outside so NOTHING FRIDAY couldn't have come at a better time. i don't even want to think about leaving the house when i can be curled under a blanket on the couch with my cute boyfriend and my 3 purring kitties!







tomorrow is the big art show that josh and i are in. i also found out i get to dj the event, which makes it EXTRA special for me. :)

the wild world of erin

i spoke too soon! life is just now settling down. from monday to monday, i was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. i saw 7 bands in 7 days (beat beat, sweet sixteens, wizzard sleeve, vee dee, tv ghost, box elders, cheap time) and had pajama parties with 4 of them. it's been more of the usual: blah blah rock'n'roll blah blah baby blah. i really apologize that i haven't been around more, but hopefully this is the calm after the storm.

amy, matt and charlotte left the hospital on sunday. josh and i went to visit one more time before they did. it took almost an hour of convincing josh that he was not going to break her, but i finally got him to hold a baby!
