i've been lucky enough to be included by some of my friends over at the etsy dark team blog in a feature designed to spotlight artists and crafters who are in a tight spot financially. since no one wants to hire my ass, you know that i qualified for this list and my fellow team members were kind enough to feature my abandoned house next to grave yard print. this group truly does support each other and make a concerted effort to actively participate in the etsy community (and beyond). please check out all the talent gathered in this one place -- especially if you like it DARK! and if you enjoy finding cool stuff for yourself as well as feeling all warm and fuzzy inside because you are helping out someone in need, please take a look at the entry titled "hard times" and see what everyone has to offer. i know i haven't sold a photograph in MONTHS and i would love to be able to go buy some groceries. haha that's so depressing.
in other news, the etsy dark team is going to be holding a halloween scavenger hunt, so keep an eye out for more details on that. you can win lots of neat prizes and i don't think i need to tell you how cool FREE STUFF is.
i also recently learned that our photography store has been accepted on the photographers of etsy (POE) team. here is a link to their blog. i am thrilled to be among such talent and i can't wait til i have a few hours to just sit back and explore all the things being a part of these two teams has to offer. i apologize, i know this news is not important to anyone but myself, but i am glad to promote them in any way i can because there is so much wonderful stuff to discover!
i have been really discouraged lately because i am tired of my blog looking so ugly and i can't find a background that i like. i am too dumb to make my own, so i have to settle for the free stuff i can find on the internet. all i want is something simple that is TWO columns, not THREE, but it's a lot harder to find than one would think. wah. i've been cranky and i feel like i need some good karma to come my way already.

Hard times. I too am unemployed and feeling very undesirable at this point in time. Hard not to get down about it, although I have good days and bad. I recently joined a site for telecommuting positions. It's reputable and it costs $50 a year to have access to all of the jobs. Their team filters out all of the crap, and the result is a site full of legitimate work-from-home opportunities. I had a phone interview this morning for a part-time telecommuting position and I've got every finger and toe crossed at this point. I feel your pain and hope things get better.
ReplyDeletePS If you don't want to go with a solid color, you could change your background to a transparent version of one of your photos. I can help. Just ask.
things been off here to so here is a little wish for every one to have a run of better luck :)
