Every time I thought I saw the thing that was most awesome, I saw something else!! I THINK the best thing on your list were Giggle cookie (forgot they existed) and Squeeze Its!
ReplyDeleteone nite i laid in bed thinking of all the things that made me happy about childhood. this list would be twice as long if i could remember the rest of the stuff i was thinking about! it took me forever to find those giggles cookies because i couldn't remember the name and had to just search "80s smiley face cookies" til i found the right combination of words, haha
ReplyDeleteDang!!!! Just when I thought I was acclimating to the idea of being a grown-up in the 21st Century, you go and show me this list! SO GOOD! My faves: Picture Page, You Can't do That on Television, Fashion Plates, Disney Holiday Specials!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many good things on this list. But two were extra special.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, my dad just found these notes my older sister and I had written to each other when we were probably 9 and 7 or something. It started as a fight over the Gameboy, and ended with me apologizing by inviting her to come play with my Fashion Plates. Every time I talk to my dad now, he brings up Fashion Plates. It's cute. And I still have them! We recently were making morbid combinations of heads and legs....fun for adults as well!
Secondly, my first concert was NKOTB and when were walking out to the car after the show, the tour bus driver gave me "Donnie Walberg's dinner napkin." Still have that too.
The good ol' days....
mmm that makes me want an ecto cooler! my m om wouldn't ever buy them for us, but my friend eve always had them at her house!
ReplyDeleteMy friend's health-nut suburbia moms never bought them Giggle cookies. But, my mom did. I was the hero at the lunch table when I would share. :D Mmmm grape Bonkers. Brings back memories of riding in the last bench seat of my mom's 1986 Chevy Suburban.
